Two English Hangers
Late 17th Century

The first with slightly curved blade (some pitting overall) double-edged towards the point and struck with a fleur-de-lys shaped mark on each side, brass hilt cast and chased with winged cherub's heads and foliage comprising shell-guard linked by a side-bar to the knuckle-guard, bonnet-shaped pommel-cap, and natural buckhorn grip (rear quillon missing); the second of similar form, with straight blade fullered along the back on each side, shell-guard with a pair of winged demi-figures, a crown above, knuckle-guard with foliage, and later natural staghorn grip (some wear overall) (2)
