A French Silver-Hilted Small-Sword
Indistinct Silver Marks, Circa 1765

With colichemarde blade of sharply tapering hollow triangular section etched with a bold design of symmetrical foliated strapwork involving a star against a hatched ground on each side of the forte, the heavy hilt cast and chased in low relief with martial and musical trophies, rocailles and foliage, all against finely punched grounds and involving ribbonwork, the grip bound with silver ribbon and twisted silver wire
