With long spike of stiff diamond section on a compressed spherical moulding, slender crescentic axe-blade and beak-shaped fluke each pierced with circular and other elaborate piercings, the former with hooked projections above and below, open socket, and short side-straps, on later wooden staff covered in brown velvet (worn and damaged) secured by dome-headed brass nails
