A Caucasian Kindjal
19th Century

With bright sharply tapering double-edged blade with two converging fullers divided by a narrow fuller between over most of its length on each side, the forte on one side etched with a roundel containing Arabic calligraphy, waisted hilt with ivory grip-scales secured by three transverse rivets each with fluted silver head on a silver floret-shaped washer on both sides, and silver grip-strap chased with foliage between, in original wooden scabbard covered in green velvet with deep white-metal locket and chape (minor damage) punched with foliage
