An 1805 Pattern Naval Officer's Sword
Early 19th Century

With tapering fullered blade (pitted) etched and gilt on one side at the forte with foliage, crowned royal arms and motto over a lion and unicorn, and a naval trophy, and on the other with foliage, a crowned fouled anchor, and a differing naval trophy, regulation gilt-copper stirrup hilt cast with a fouled anchor on each langet, pommel cast and chased with lion-mask and extending down to form the back-piece, bullion and blue cloth sword-knot, and ribbed ivory grip (chipped) bound with twisted copper wire, in later black leather scabbard with linear engraved brass locket, chape and suspension mount, and with two rings for suspension
