With curved fullered blade (some light rust patination) double-edged towards the point and etched and gilt over one side of the forte with a martial trophy, crowned 'GR' cypher and a sprig of oak, and along the other with a martial trophy, a figure of Britannia and foliage, gilt stirrup hilt with ring for a sword-knot at the top of the knuckle-guard, lion's head pommel and faceted back-piece, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in later black leather scabbard with shaped linear engraved brass locket, chape and suspension mount, and with two rings for suspension
