An 1822 Pattern East India Company Officer's Sword Of The Bombay Cavalry Regiment
By Prosser, Invention, London, Circa 1830

With curved pipe-back blade (some scattered rust staining) double-edged and slightly recurved at the spear point, the forte etched on one side with maker's details, Bombay Cavalry Regt.' and crossed laurels, and on the other with foliage, East Indian Company lion and crossed palms, regulation brass hilt of fluted bars retaining traces of gilding and incorporating a pierced East India Company lion, pierced folding inner-guard, rear quillon, flat stepped iron pommel and back-piece in one, and fishskin-covered grip bound with twisted silver wire, in original painted iron scabbard (some dents) with two rings for suspension
