A Naval Officer's Dirk
Early 19th Century

With curved blade double-edged towards the sharply tapering point and etched with designs of foliage over most of its length on each side, gilt hilt comprising recurved quillons (knuckle-chain missing), fluted rounded pommel and back-piece in one, and partly chequered rounded ivory grip (minor repair), in original line engraved gilt-brass scabbard, and with two rings for suspension (gilding worn overall)
