A Pair Of Balkan 18-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistols With Silver-Gilt Stocks
Dated 1823

With three-stage barrels each sparsely engraved at the octagonal breech, tangs covered with a gilt-metal plate, dated sparsely engraved flat bevelled locks (cocks replaced, one steel refaced), full stocks with curved butts cast and chased overall with flowering foliage and trophies of arms in relief, all within ribboned strapwork and against a finely stippled ground, on each side of the butt and on the trigger-guard with a bird, spirally fluted pommels and muzzle-sleeves en suite with the stocks, replacement triggers, false ramrods, and retaining some original gilding (some wear overall, barrels and locks with minor rust patination) (2)
