A Persian Jambiya With Enamelled Hilt
Qajar, Late 19th Century

With slightly curved waved double-edged blade of flattened diamond section etched with watering over its entire length on each side, the forte damascened on both sides with a panel of gold foliage involving two bird's heads, waisted hilt of oval section polychrome enamel against a white ground with foliage inhabited by birds framing two partly gilt portrait medallions on each side of the grip, and with a three-quarter length figure along the top of the pommel (very minor chips)
