A North Indian Jamdhar Katari
17th Century

With slightly curved double-edged blade riveted at the forte and cut with two central fullers over its entire length on each side, iron hilt of characteristic form with flat beaked quillons, arched beaked pommel with button finial, and swelling faceted grip between mouldings, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard faced in faceted iron with embossed brass locket and brass bound button terminal, and complete with leather suspension mount (some rust patination overall)
