The toplever, rib and forend-latch inlaid with three gold stars, non-selective single-trigger, faceted fences, leg-of-mutton backlocks, the sides of the action-body with the makers' name engraved in a scrolling banner surrounded by best foliate-scrollwork, some hardening-colour, well-figured stock with semi-pistolgrip and plastic butt-plate, lever-latch forend, the Whitworth Steel barrels (shortened), engraved Charles Lancaster, 99 Mount Street, Berkeley Square, London, with game-rib, the lower rib engraved Made of Sir Jospeh Whitworth's Fluid Pressed Steel

The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed circa 1927-8 with 31in. barrels
