Gold-inlaid flag-safety, the blued Mauser action with thumb-recess and charger-guide, cocking-piece with peep-sight sighted for 100, 300 and 400 yards, the breech engraved 'Sighted for Rigby Special High Velocity 275 Bore Cartridges Pointed Bullet 140 Grs', well-figured stock (possibly a replacement, chipped and repaired at toe) with semi-pistolgrip and steel butt-plate, sling-eyes, the barrel, engraved John Rigby & Co., 43 Sackville Street, London, with leaf-sights for 100 and 300 yards and block-mounted bead-foresight

The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in 1947, and is recorded as having a horn-capped pistolgrip. However, this stock is stamped with the Rigby number under the barrel, and is the same length as noted in the records
