The most ambitious, comprehensive and handsomely illustrated furniture book of the Regency period, depicting a range of eclectic designs in Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Chinese and Gothic styles. In addition to individual pieces of furniture it includes whole room schemes demonstrating the decoration and arrangement of of furniture in situ. Inscribed at the head of the title-page, "For the use of James McBlaine, Hillsborough". James McBlaine, architect and mason, worked for Wills Hill, 1st Earl of Hillsborough, at Hillsborough, Co. Down in the 1760s and 1770s.
