Naturalistically rendered, one end carved to show the characteristic hollow channels of the lotus whilst a folded long-stemmed leaf issues from the mid section, the details carefully stained and worked to imitate the texture of the vegetable, with tomobako, the inside of the lid signed and sealed by the artist, Oshin sei with seal Oshin. 29.2cm (11½in) long.
