The first a sarumawashi, seated with a pipe in his left hand, gesturing to his pet monkey clutching a peach, crouched at the man's feet, signed in a tsuishu lacquer reserve Toshimune; 10.2cm (4in) high; the second of a poulterer with his grandson, the former seated on a log and about to feed a chick perched in a shallow basket, the child clambering over his shoulder, two other chicks at their feet, signed Tozan; 9.7cm (3¾in) high. Both with removable wood stands.
