A pair of bronze okimono of karashishi (Chinese lions)

By Yamamoto Junmin (1882-1962), Showa Period
Both seated on their haunches with expressive musclature, their mouths cast to articulate the mantra syllables Ah and Um, both inscribed on the bottom Junmin saku; with a lacquered wood stand and tomobako titled and signed by the artist Osaka, Ikoma, with seal Ikoma kinsei. Both 19.3cm (7 5/8in) high. (4).
