Cast, chiselled and inlaid, the God of Longevity is typically dressed in scholar's garb, seated and holding a scroll in one hand and a gnarled cane in the other, a long-tailed turtle crawling at his feet, details of the garment inlaid in gold honzogan; signed Moritsugu, with separate lacquer stand and wood storage box. The figure 21½cm (8½in) high, the stand 37cm (14½in) across. (5).
