Cast and chiselled, the God of Longevity is typically dressed in scholar's garb, seated beside his recumbent crane, his left hand holding a detachable gnarled cane from which is suspended a scroll, with tomobako, the inside of the cover signed, dated and sealed by the artist, Taisho ku-nen juni-gatu kore wo tukuru, oju, Yoshihiro. The figure 25.1cm (9 13/16in) high, the cane 38.2cm (15in) high. (3).
