Meiji Period
Conceived in three detachable sections, naturalistically rendered and perched on a rootwoood base, the cockerel with its tail feathers splayed, its mate with its head lowered to the ground, their combs and wattles with red patination, unsigned. The cockerel 17½cm (6 13/16in) high, the hen 8.2cm (3¼in) high, the wood stand 35.6cm (14in) long. (3).
