A gilt-bronze model of oni

Miyao style, Meiji Period
The oni standing with feet apart for balance on a detachable gnarled rootwood stand, one hand resting on his right hip as he holds aloft a small copper cauldron, his limbs and head copper patinated and his tunic decorated with futatsu-domoe mon within swirling clouds in gold hiramakie; unsigned. 48.2cm (19in) high, incl. stand.
