Decorated with the Chinese sage Shoshi's wife, Rogyoku, seated astride a ho-o and playing the sho, all typically executed in mother-of-pearl, stained ivory and aogai, the rim applied with an intricately-worked silver filigree border; signed in a tsuishu-lacquer reserve Masayoshi, affixed to a wood stand. 28cm (11in) high.
