The first elaborately decorated in gold takamakie and togidashi with Ryujo Kannon, the serene Goddess of Mercy, holding a fan, being transported by a three-clawed dragon, whose writhing body is entwined amongst swirling clouds, the face of Kannon and her headdress inlaid in ivory, all within a simulated bamboo frame lacquered in iro-e hiramakie with stylised floral motifs; unsigned, 82.2cm x 60½cm (32 3/8in x 23¾in); the second similarly lacquered with a suspended basket ikebana arrangement of peonies on a simulated ishime ground, signed with two seals in Tensho script Seii and Jushin; 60½cm x 45cm (23¾in x 17¾in).
