A German Or Swiss Halberd
Early To Mid-16th Century

With spike of stiff diamond section deeply struck with a mark, a pair of shears within a shield, on one side of the flattened base, axe-blade with slightly concave cutting-edge (upper point reduced) and pierced with a group of five circular holes, beak-shaped fluke (tip damaged) cusped above and below, and open socket extended on each side to form two wide straps, on wooden staff of octagonal section
