A German Halberd
Late 16th Century, Possibly Styrian

With long spike of stiff diamond section, sharply-pointed crescentic axe-blade and beak-shaped fluke each pierced with circular holes, the former with small projections above and below, open socket with two transverse brass rivets each with embossed brass floret-shaped washer on both sides, and two long side-straps, on later wooden staff of square section (some rust patination)
