With etched damascus blade (minor pitting) cut with two fullers over its entire length on each side, the forte on one side stamped with maker's marks and initials of Weyerberg Kirschbaum & Cie, and etched and gilt against a partly blued ground with owner's name 'von Schierstedt' in gothic letters on a banner against branches of oak within a foliated panel, and on the other with a trophy of arms en suite and inscribed 'Eisenhauer Echt-Damast', ormulu hilt cast and chased with foliage and incorporating the crowned arms of Mecklenburg-Strelitz within branches of laurel on the guard, pommel cast and chased with a grotesque mask between branches of oak and laurel on the back and surmounted by an oval tang button chiselled with the owner's coat-of-arms forming a seal, and ribbed hard-rubber grip (badge missing) bound with twisted wire, in original nickel-plated scabbard with two rings for suspension, and in fine condition overall
