A Persian Steel Kulah Khud, Dhal And Bazu Band
Qajar, Late 19th Century

The first with domed skull, central spike, two plume-holders, and vandyked camail of butted rings (nasal missing); the second of convex circular form with four chiselled domed bosses and an applied brass border, and retaining its red textile lining; the third shaped to the fore-arm and retaining its buckles for straps (wrist-plates and straps missing), each decorated overall with Persian courtly figures, birds and animals within circular cartouches and against a ground of further figures, birds and animals en suite, the borders with panels of Persian calligraphy, and each retaining traces of silver-damascening overall (3)
