A Pair Of Turkish 22-Bore Silver-Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistols And Holsters
19th Century

With twist three-stage barrels with gold lines dividing each stage and gold-encrusted foliage at the muzzles, mid-sections and breeches, gold-encrusted Arabic inscriptions along the top flat of each forward section and on each breech, the latter each with gold-lined maker's mark, and tangs decorated with gold foliage en suite (gold with some wear and minor losses), rounded locks (one action defective) in European taste with rollers, spuriously signed within rococo ornament and engraved with a quiver and foliage on each tail, figured full stocks (one fore-end incomplete) profusely inlaid with silver wire foliate scrollwork and pins (some losses), mounts cast and chased with trophies of arms and foliage, comprising side-plates, escutcheons, spurred pommels with rounded caps, and trigger-guards with foliate finials, silver ramrod-pipes, and false ramrods inlaid with silver wire (some wear overall): in their leather holsters each faced in brocade embroidered with flowers of small polychrome glass beads within borders of flowerheads en suite (some wear overall), Turkish silver marks (4)
