A Pair Of Turkish 20-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistols
Early 19th Century

With barrels each with engraved and chiselled foliate decoration involving three brass-lined marks at the breech, foliate engraved flat bevelled locks (actions defective), the stocks entirely covered with silver filigree enriched with clusters of silver beads along the back of each butt and on the spurred pommels, the former each with a nielloed diamond and set with four cabochon corals, a further coral behind each rear ramrod-pipe, filigree trigger-guards and deep muzzle-sleeve, the latter with false ramrod of woven silver wire (the other muzzle-sleeve an old Balkan replacement, cast and chased with foliage and incorporating a false ramrod), and triggers cast and chased with C-scrolls (barrels and locks in rusted condition) (2)
