An Indian Chilanum

With distinctly watered slightly recurved single-edged blade damascened in gold with a foliate motif on one side, characteristic steel hilt flared out above and below a central compressed spherical feature and decorated overall with silver-damascened foliage against a ground of gold scrollwork and surmounted by a silver-gilt gourd-shaped finial, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard with pierced locket and chape en suite with the hilt
