With earlier curved fullered single-edged blade struck with two 'eyelash' marks on one side at the forte, hilt comprising tapering quillons (loose) with bluntly-pointed langets and spherical terminals, brass grip-strap, and rounded rhinoceros horn grips with rounded brass-mounted pommel pierced for a sword-knot (missing), in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather (damaged) with brass locket, deep chape, shaped suspension mounts, and two brass rings for suspension; together with the mounts from an Arab belt, of white-metal, comprising ten square mounts each with beadwork border centred on a floret, linked together by a plaited wire with bell terminals, and suspended with ten faux amulets each hung with further bells en suite (2)
