Two Rowel Spurs
Early 17th Century

The first of steel, of crane-neck form and for the left foot, with slender tapering downcurved heel-band of flattened oval section with figure-eight terminals retaining their pierced scrolled buckles and hooks for leathers, the base of the neck of faceted elongated form with a scroll above, and star-shaped rowel of five points; the second of plain form and for the left foot, with slender downcurved heel-band, retaining its buckle and studs for leathers, short downcurved neck, and floret-shaped rowel of eight points (both with surface rust) (2)
