A Basket-Hilted Backsword Of The 42nd Royal Highland Regiment (The Black Watch)
Third Quarter Of The 18th Century

With slightly tapering blade double-edged towards the point and cut with a broad fuller along the back over most of its length on each side, iron guard of flattened bars framing ovoidal panels and saltires pierced with triangles and circles, fore-guards, scrolled wrist-guard, conical pommel with rounded button, and later wooden grip (some light pitting overall)
