A Rare German Or Swiss Gothic Dagger Of Highly Unusual Form
Early 15th Century

In excavated condition, with stout tapering double-edged blade of triangular section hollowed at the front and flat at the back, short downcurved faceted quillons flattened at the back and each tapering to a point, the quillon-block extending to cover the lower part of the later wooden grip, also flattened at the back, and with globular copper-alloy pommel flattened on each side
