The composition of undulating foliate bands forming cartouches are copies of compositions found on 16th century Iznik tiles.

The coins on the necklace are minted in Al-Jazira (Algeria) and dated between AH 1237 (AD 1821-2) and AH 1245 (AD 1819-30) and the tughra of the Ottoman sultan Mahmud II (AH 1223-55/ AD 1808-39) and coins minted in Constantinople dated AH 1255 (AD 1839-40) with the tughra of 'Abd al-Hamid II dated AH 1313.
