The enamelled decoration on this hilt can be compared to a hilt on a Mughal sword in the Nasser D. Khalili collection (see, David Alexander The Arts of War, Vol. XXI, no. 128) and to the decoration on an Indian water vessel (see Christiane Terlinden, Exhibition Catalogue, Magnificence de L'Argenterie Moghole, Brussels, 1987, no. 156.
