each of domed form surmounted by a spike, the nose guards with palmette finials flanked by two plume holders, one decorated with a band of inscription-filled cartouches around the rim, both profusely decorated with figures, mail neck guard attached to both

Provenance:
The private collection of H.E. Hossein Ghods-Nakhai, acquired in the 1960s. Hossein Ghods-Nakhai was the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Tehran from 1961-1962, and was also Iran's Ambassador to the Holy See from 1966-1970 and an honorary president of the Iran Society from 1958-1961. He is the author of The Rubiyat of Ghods.
