of bulbous form on a splayed foot with long neck and slim twisted 's' shaped handle with dragon head spout terminal, with chased and repousse decoration comprising numerous South Indian deities within arcaded cartouches, including Subrahmanya, Ganesha, and Krishna, inscribed on the sides 'Mons. Paul Entrop with best wishes from Pragjee Soorjee and Co.', stamped 'silver' and 'A. Bhida Jeeram, Bombay'

At the end of the 19th Century, Indian silversmiths gravitated towards the big cities, producing objects of high quality in hybrid styles. Here the Islamic form blends with the classical acanthus decoration and the South Indian iconography.
