A bronze figure of Shakyamuni Buddha

15th/16th century
Cast seated in dhyanasana, his right hand in bhumisparsamudra, the left in dhyanamudra, his serene countenance framed by pendulous ears and rows of tight curls that cover his head and usnisa, the elegant body dressed in monks' robes with elaborately incised patchwork design and floral borders, lotus-form wood stand, fitted box.
