A gilt-bronze figure of Shakyamuni Buddha

Xuande
The serene figure seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus plinth, the right hand in bhumisparamudra, the left in dhyanamudra, his downcast eyes and gentle smile set between pendulous ears with pierced earlobes, beneath rows of snail-form curls that cover his head and domical usnisa, the well-proportioned body draped in voluminous robes that fall in well-delineated folds across his shoulders and legs
27cm (10 3/4in) high.
