A large bronze figure of Amitayus

Early 15th century
Elaborately cast, the regal figure portrayed seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus plinth, both hands held in dhyanamudra, his meditative face set with downcast eyes and a serene smile, framed by a five-leafed diadem, pendulous ears and elaborate necklaces, long tresses falling over his shoulders, draped with a long scarf, wearing jewelled-armbands and bracelets, his lower body clad in a dhoti with finely chased floral borders
37.5cm (15in.) high.
