A jadeite egret-form box and cover

Fashioned as a standing egret with its head turned, grasping a lotus stalk in its mouth, surrounded by further undercut stalks of lotus blossoms, leaves, reeds, and two smaller egrets, the lower part of the hollow body forming the box, the head and back of the bird forming the cover, connected to the body by a loose ring chain, the details of the feathers and foliage veins finely incised, the deep leaf-green stone polished to a fine lustre with white, spinach green and russet inclusions, wood stand.
