Mamluk style, probably Syria, 20th Century

Arabic manuscript on 14th Century Mamluk paper, 43 leaves, 5 lines to the page written in elegant naskhi and muhaqqaq script in gold with diacritics and vowel points in gold, gold rosettes decorated with red and blue dots between verses, numerous illuminated pear-shaped and circular devices, one illuminated frontispiece incorporating panels decorated with intertwining serrated leaves in gold on a blue ground, similar interlinear decoration in black and red hatching, last folio with sheet of paper glued to last page, modern beige leather gilt-decorated, blind-tooled with central medallions, cornerpieces and border panels in the Mamluk style, with flap, edges worn
