Footnotes

The manuscript is a treatise on Hanafite law in general, and elaborates on the teachings of the three founders, Abu Hanifa, Abu Yusuf and Muhammad al-Shaybani. The text is divided into chapters (Kitab) which deal with legal subjects such as nikah (marriage), talaq (divorce) and hudud (the penal code).
