Arabic manuscript on paper, 310 leaves, 15 lines to the page written in small naskhi script in black ink with diacritics in black and red, illuminated roundel between verses, inner margins ruled in red and gold, catchwords in wide margins, illuminated devices in colours and gold, sura headings in thuluth in white within illuminated panels, one illuminated double page of illumination in colours and gold, first folio loose, repair to inner margin, contemporary brown morocco with stamped central medallions and border panels of gilt paper onlay decorated with floral motifs, with flap, doublures of marbled paper, with brown morocco slipcase decorated with a diaper pattern in gold, worn, one side damaged
