Footnotes

J. D. Imberton worked for the Paris decorating company Bucan and Duponthieu from 1882. He is known to have exhibited at the Paris Exhibition of 1878 and worked partly as a designer for Appert Frères in Clichy. His enamel work is very similar to that of Philippe-Joseph Brocard who also showed his work in Paris at the exhibitions and was a great influence on the young Emile Gallé.
