A Cantonese Export porcelain Dish from the service of Nasr al-Din Shah Qajar
China, 19th Century

of shallow form with slightly rounded sides, elaborately decorated in gilt and polychrome on a white ground with a central roundel bearing a landscaped water motif and a bird, the upper cusped cartouche containing the emblem of Nasr al-Din Shah, further panels and cartouches with bird and floral motifs
24.8 cm. diam.

The inscription reads: al-Sultan ibn al-Sultan and al-Khaqan ibn al-Khaqan Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar.
