comprising twelve square tiles, underglaze, painted in polychrome depicting two men on horseback fighting each other within an arched frame, two lower outer corners depicting lion heads, in the two upper corners above the arch are depicted the two princes looking down from heaven with their attendants, three inscription-filled cartouches along the upper frame
74 x 55.5 cm.

Footnotes

The inscriptions consist of a couplet, probably from Firdausi's Shahnama, which describes a combat: 'He struck his head with his sword with rancour, and with the power of his arms cut him in two'; the middle cartouche reads: 'At the time of Sultan Mahmoud Ghaznavi'.
