The inscription on the large Kashmiri panel reads: "A commissioned shawl [for] the new design, the new innovation, well-coloured, excellent, highest, the best of highest, property (?) of Barakat (?) [no.] 262 from the land of Kashmir in the year AH [12]60/ AD 1844-5".
