The inscription reads: 'Commissioned [for] the new design, the new innovation, excellent, highest, highest'; with repeated invocations to 'Ali; 'Property of Sayyid [no.] 22' with additional stock numbers; in the top cartouche: 'In Najaf'.
The combination of invocations to 'Ali and Najaf (where Imam 'Ali is buried) may be an indication that it was commissioned by a Shi'ite living in Najaf.
